SALVATION ARMY THRIFT STORE IN NEED OF DONATIONS TO SUPPORT THUNDER BAY

October 13, 2018

The Salvation Army Thrift Store needs your donations to help make a difference in Thunder Bay.

With two locations in the city, 870 Red River Road and 915 Memorial Avenue, donations are vital in providing assistance to neighbours in need. “We rely on this community’s giving spirit to operate. It is only through generous donations that we can provide assistance to thousands in Thunder Bay,” says Salvation Army Thrift Store Manager for the Red River location, Cheryl Lynn McLean.

A part of the community for over 20 years The Salvation Army Thrift Store provides close to $30,000 annually to support local Salvation Army programs and services that assist in the fight against poverty for families and individuals.

With the Fall and Winter seasons fast approaching, which are the slower donation periods, both Thrift Stores are in need of clothing and household items. “No matter how small or big – one item or two, we need your donations so that we can continue to not only support those in need but to give a second chance at life to items you no longer need that someone else will treasure,” McLean added.

Through shopping and donating at both Thrift Store locations residents are assisting to divert thousands of pounds of clothing, textiles, household items and furniture from local landfills for a cleaner community. “Thrifting with us, whether through shopping or donating is a win-win for the community and the environment!” McLean said.

Donations are accepted daily at both locations, including Sundays.
